二、重要节日和休假日

(1)9月10日:教师节

中国的教师节定为每年的9月10日,是专门为教师设立的节日。

在这一天别忘了给老师说一声“节日快乐”哦~

(2)9月17日:中秋节

中秋赏月,共度佳节。中秋节是中国的传统节日之一,主要特征是月圆人团圆,象征着家庭的和谐与团聚,有赏月、吃月饼、看花灯、赏桂花等民俗。中秋节定在每年农历八月十五,所以每年的中秋节可能不是同一天哦~

放假安排:9月15日—17日,共三天,9月14日(星期六)需要上课。

(3)10月1日:国庆节

国庆节定于每年的10月1日,这一天是中华人民共和国正式宣告成立的纪念日,始于1949年。今年是新中国成立第75周年。

放假安排:10月1日—10月7日,共七天。9月29日(星期日)和10月12日(星期六)需要上课。

(4)10月11日:重阳节

重阳节定于农历九月初九,强调了尊老敬老的传统美德。这一天人们会登高望远、饮菊花酒、佩戴茱萸,以祈求避难消灾、盼望健康平安。不妨去缙云山登高赏秋,体验北碚之美。

(5)1月1日:元旦节

共同迎接充满希望的新一年~

放假安排:1月1日(具体安排以学校通知为准)。

(6)1月29日:春节

春节,即中国农历新年,是中国最具传统意义的节日,象征着岁末年初的辞旧迎新与家庭团聚。在这个节日里,人们会进行大扫除、贴春联、挂灯笼、放鞭炮等一系列活动来除旧迎新,还有拜年、发红包、舞龙舞狮等传统活动。

(7)2月12日:元宵节

团团圆圆过元宵!元宵节定于农历正月十五,标志着春节庆祝活动的尾声。在这一天,人们会吃元宵、点彩灯、猜灯谜等。

This guide includes the 2024-2025 academic year calendar of Southwest University, important holidays and festivals of this semester, key event dates, and more. 1September 10th: Teacher's Day

Teacher's Day in China is celebrated on September 10th every year to honor educators.

Don't forget to wish your teachers a "Happy Teacher's Day"!

2September 17th: Mid-Autumn Festival

The Mid-Autumn Festival is a traditional Chinese festival characterized by a full moon and reunions, symbolizing harmony and togetherness of family. Customs include admiring the moon, eating mooncakes, enjoying lanterns and osmanthus flowers, and so on. It falls on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, so the date varies yearly.

Holiday Schedule: September 15th-17th, a total of three days. Classes will be held on September 14th (Saturday).

3October 1st: National Day

National Day, celebrated annually on October 1st, marks the official founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of New China.

Holiday Schedule: October 1st-7th, a total of seven days. Classes will be held on September 29th (Sunday) and October 12th (Saturday).

4October 11th: Double Ninth Festival

Falling on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month, the Double Ninth Festival emphasizes the traditional virtues of respecting and caring for the elderly. Traditions include climbing heights, drinking chrysanthemum wine, and wearing dogwood to ward off evil and pray for health and safety. You can consider visiting Jinyun Mountain to enjoy the autumn scenery and experience the beauty of Beibei.

5January 1st: New Year's Day

Welcome the new year filled with hope!

Holiday Schedule: January 1st (specific arrangements are subject to school notices).

6January 29th: Spring Festival

The Spring Festival, or Chinese Lunar New Year, is the most traditional in China, symbolizing the turn of the year and family reunion. People engage in cleaning the house, pasting Spring Festival couplets, hanging lanterns, setting off firecrackers, and other activities to usher in the new year. Other traditions include paying New Year visits, giving red envelopes, and dragon and lion dances.

7February 12th: Lantern Festival

Celebrate the Lantern Festival with family reunions! It falls on the 15th day of the lunar new year and marks the end of the Spring Festival celebrations. On this day, people celebrate by eating Yuanxiao(glutinous rice balls), lighting colorful lanterns, and solving lantern riddles.
